PBI team of NSG to probe cause of food eatery blast in Mall Road Shimla: DGP
To unearth the Cause of the mysterious blast that occurred at a highly sensitive location near Mall Road Shimla in a food eatery on Tuesday, a team of National Security Guards joined the probe today
This was stated by the Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu in a statement issued here today. He said that on July 18, 2023, during evening hours, an explosion occurred at an eatery located in Middle Bazar, Shimla.
In this incident, one person had reportedly died and about 10-12 persons were injured. The damage due to the explosion shattered windows and structures at The Mall Road level and up to the top story.
DGP stated that in this regard, a case FIR no. 128/2023 dated 19.07.2023 u / s 336,337, 304 A IPC was registered at Police Station, Sadar, Shimla.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted for the investigation of this case. Moreover, a forensic team of State FSL Shimla also visited the spot.
“Keeping in view of the sensitivity of the case and for ensuring thorough and expeditious investigation, the DGO has requested the Additional Secretary (CTCR) Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi to depute the Post Blast Investigation (PBI) Team of NSG to visit the place of incident to unearth the cause of the blast. “
“Accordingly, the National Bomb Data Center (NBDC) team comprising of 14 men and 2 officers inspected the spot today on 23-07-2023 and collected the evidence from the scene of the incident. ” a statement issued here today said.
DGP said that they also examined the evidence collected by the aforementioned SIT. The team of NBDC also met and interacted with the injured persons in the hospital.
They also discussed this matter with Dr. Rajesh Kumar of SFSL, who had initially inspected the spot on the day of the blast. The examination of the NBDC team continues.
The National Bomb Data Center (NBDC) was created in 1988 and is the apex national agency for Post Blast Investigation (PBI) works under the National Security Guards (NSG).
From then the NBDC began to collate all blast-related incidents in the country and chronicled them, he added.
