Nepal’s Aman Thapa won the paragliding competition, 51 pilots participated in the four-day flying festival in Junga

The Flying Festival Accuracy Championship, which was going on for the last four days in Junga, ended on Sunday. In which 51 paraglider pilots from India and abroad participated. In this four-day Paragliding Accuracy Championship, Aman Thapa from Pokhara, Nepal stood first, Naresh Kumar from Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh stood second and Assam Rifleman Amit S Jamati stood third. Additional Deputy Commissioner Shimla Abhishek Verma attended as the chief guest and the pilots securing first, second, and third prizes were awarded cash prizes of Rs 2 lakh, 1 lakh, and 75 thousand respectively.
ADC said that due to the Flying Festival, Junga’s name has been mentioned on the international tourism map, which is a matter of pride. He said that there is immense potential for adventure tourism in the Junga region. The promotion of tourism in this region will create direct and indirect self-employment opportunities for the people.
Arun Rawat, CEO of The Glide Inn, welcomed the chief guest and gave detailed information about the four-day Paragliding Accuracy Championship. He expressed his gratitude to the district and local administration and tourism department officials for successfully organizing this championship. I said that the participation of the Indian Air Force and Indian Army teams made this championship exciting.
In the Flying Festival, the Language and Culture Department presented a unique display of local folk dance and music and introduced the pilots coming from outside to the culture of the state. Apart from this, exhibitions by various government departments and self-help groups made the festival attractive by setting up their stalls.
