MNREGA and CITU handed over a demand letter to Labor Commissioner Mansi Sahai
The delegation of MNREGA and Construction Workers Federation belonging to CITU today handed over the demand letter to Labor Commissioner Mansi Sahai Thakur and the newly appointed Secretary of State Labor Welfare Board, Rajeev Kumar. It is worth mentioning that the assistance amount received from the board to MNREGA and construction workers and the registration and renewal of laborers have been stopped illegally for the last seven months, due to which lakhs of laborers are facing financial loss. Union demands to restore it immediately. has again taken up with these officers. The delegation included CITU National Secretary Dr. Kashmir Thakur, CITU State President Vijender Mehra, Federation State President Joginder Kumar, and General Secretary and Board member Bhupendra Singh. In this regard, Bhupendra Singh told that four and a half lakh laborers of the state will meet the State Labor Welfare Board. Aid amount and registration and renewal in their board have been illegally banned for the last seven months. Against which the workers have been protesting on the road for the last several days. Board member Bhupendra Singh told the media that the Congress party government headed by Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, on the very next day i.e. December 12, 2022, without the permission of the board and the government, issued a notification, which was immediately implemented. The demand for cancellation has been raised by the union again today. The registration and renewal of construction workers have also stopped after an illegal notification issued by the government on February 8. About which the union delegation told the chairperson of the expert committee and labor commissioner Mansi Sahay Thakur also handed over the demand letter in the afternoon and he was demanded to remove the condition of the cess immediately. To decide on all these issues, a meeting of the State Labor Welfare Board is being held in Shimla on July 22, and is headed by the Minister for Labor and Employment. Minister Dhaniram Shandil will do. Bhupendra Singh said that if the board and the government do not release these stalled benefits, then the union will start a campaign against the government from the month of August.
