Landslide disrupts Kalka-Shimla UNESCO heritage rail line, trains service effected

The Landslide hit the narrow gauge railway line track between Jatough-Summerhill Railway station on Kalka Shimla UNESCO heritage disrupting the movement of trains this morning. 

Superintendent of Police Shimla Sanjay Gandhi said that due to heavy rain Kalka-Shimla railway track at 92/6-92/7 km between Jutogh and Summerhill railway stations is washed away. He said that the movement of trains between Kandaghat- Shimla is canceled.

A member of parliament from Shimla Suresh Kashyap visited the railway track. He said that it was hanging in the air and after gushing out of water track has been washed away.

This is the second time when UNESCO heritage was disrupted by traffic. On July 9 and 10, it was also closed down near Kummarhati.
