Lalit Sharma of Himachal Knowledge Science Society & Joginder Walia from All India Public Science Network condemn the unscientific statement of IIT Mandi Director Laxmidhar Behera

The statement of the Director of IIT Mandi that the people of Himachal eat meat is the reason why disaster has come to Dev Bhumi; Himachal Knowledge Science Society – The above statement of the director is absurd and tarnishes the dignity of the institute.

District President of the Committee, Lalit Sharma has said in a press release that such statements create superstition and misconceptions in the society.  Sharma said that the IIT director should at least take care of his post and the dignity of the institute.  Sharma said that on the one hand, the government is requesting IITs and other institutions to conduct a scientific study on the disaster in the state, while on the other hand, such a statement by the director of the institute is unscientific and misleading.

Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti believes that the students of IIT Mandi are doing very innovative and excellent work but people like Director Behera are working to tarnish the dignity of the institute. The committee has demanded from the government that strict action should be taken against the IIT Director and he should be immediately removed from the post.

Joginder Walia of All India Public Science Network has stated that the statement of the director of IIT Mandi that the people of Himachal eat meat, which is why the disaster has come, The Directors statement is like sprinkling salt on the wounds of the people of Himachal, which is strongly condemned, the above statement of the director is absurd and the dignity of the institute  Strict action should be taken against the director and he should be removed from the post immediately.
