Kufri Chail Road closed due to snowfall – likely to open by Saturday

Due to heavy snowfall, Kufri-Chail road has been blocked since yesterday. To open it, work is being done on a war footing by the Public Works Department. After almost two months of drought, the first snowfall of this winter occurred recently in which about one and a half feet of snow was recorded in the tourist destination Kufri. Due to snowfall, there is a cold wave in the entire area and people are hiding inside their homes.
Assistant Engineer Sub Division Junga Devesh Thakur said that he said that Kufri Chail Road will be opened for vehicles by Saturday. Additional workers from three JCBs have been deployed on this road. Apart from this, Jangal-Jatog, Shilogbagh-Darbhog roads have been opened. He said that the roads under Junga sub-division have been opened for vehicular movement. Road Inspector Laik Ram Thakur, who is carrying out the work on the spot, said that the work of removing snowfall is in progress and the work of laying sand on the road is also being done so that the vehicles do not slip on the roads. He said that despite the extreme cold, the workers are working like soldiers to open the roads.
