Himachal Congress protests over Rahul’s disqualification, demand JPC in Adani Case
On the call of the All India Congress Committee, the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, today, at all the district headquarters and all the block levels of the state, on the former National President of the Congress Party, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, by a court in Gujarat. A sit-in demonstration was held against the verdict against him in the defamation case. The demonstration was held outside the party headquarters in Shimla. The State Congress Party strongly opposes the way false cases are being made against the Congress leaders, motivated by politics and with a sense of revenge. On this occasion, State Congress Committee General Secretary and Spokesperson Devendra Bushahri said that in such a big democratic country, the people of the opposition party could not raise their point in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, such dictatorial government has been seen for the first time after independence. The way the MPs of the Congress party and other opposition parties have been demanding formation of a JPC in the context of the pressure being made by the Modi government on banks and insurance companies to invest in Adani’s company, but the Modi government is not ready to accept it. Considering why this government is running away from not forming JPC, Parliament is not allowed to speak on this issue, which is unfortunate. The entire state Congress party is standing like a rock with Mr. Rahul Gandhi. On this occasion Mahila Congress President Mrs. Zainab Chandel, Yashpal Tanaik, spokesperson SS Jogata, GS Tomar, Jitendra Thakur, Dr. Mohan Jharta, Deepak Rathore, Baldev Thakur, Dharendra Gupta, Hemraj Sharma, Ramkrishna Shandil, Bhupendra Singh, Purna Chand Shanta Rajta, Usha Divanta , Brinda Singh, Pushpa Shobhata, Krishna, Vinod Bhatia, Veer Singh, Mohan Negi, Senram Negi, Deepak Rathore, Santram, Devendra Kumar Ratna, and many other party workers were present.
Describing the decision of the Lok Sabha Secretariat to cancel the Lok Sabha membership of former Congress National President MP Rahul Gandhi as unfortunate, State Congress President MP Pratibha Singh termed it as a hasty step taken under the pressure of the Central Government. She has said that this step of the government is completely dictatorial and Congress will not back down from any mass movement against this dictatorship.
Pratibha Singh said that today’s decision of the Lok Sabha is against parliamentary traditions which is very unfortunate. She said that this is a direct proof of the violation of democracy in the country.
State Congress President Pratibha Singh along with other national Congress leaders were taken into custody by the police while participating in a march to Parliament by members of the All India Congress Committee against the court verdict in a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi, in New Delhi today.
