Election campaign ended for bye elections in HP

Bye Election campaign for one Lok Sabha and three assembly seats ended at 1800 hrs on Wednesday the poling is scheduled to be held on Oct 30 in the state.
Chief Electoral Officer C Palrasu said that election campaign came to end with peaceful note in the Mandi Parliamentary, Arki, Fatehpurand Jubbal Kotkhai Assembly for the bye poll which is scheduled to be held on Oct 30 and result would be out on Nov 2.
He said that no political parties would be allowed to address any public meetings, door to door visit and organizing indoor and outdoor activities during the silence period which would be followed strictly.
During two days dry days would be observed as no liquor and wine shops would be held in the areas where MCC is enforced in the ten districts and 20 assembly segments and surrounding areas.
He said that sec 144 would be implemented around 100 meter around the polling stations and strong rooms created for protecting the EVMs and  election material.
He said that all the license Weapons were compounded in all police stations of poll bound districts to ensure free and fair poll and special vigil was enforced on the border and entry points to keep eye on the movement of antisocial elements to ensure law and order. The history sheeters and convicts who are on furlough and holidays would be in detention till the MCC would be enforced.
Police have seized around 1700 liters of country and English illicit liquor and NDPS and drugs tuned to Seven kilogram in the state during the special election vigil and special drive in the campaign. SP Shimla Monica Bhatnaguru said that around 768 litre country and English illicit liquor was seized in three different places and vigil is continuing in the district.
