Duo peddlers awarded 12 yrs of RI under NDPS Act in Shimla
The Special Judge (Forest), Shimla Aman Sood has convicted the accused Mahender Singh and Vinod, U/S 18,20 of the NDPS Act, in case FIR No. 76/19, Police Station CID, Shimla
The court has awarded rigorous imprisonment of 12 years and imposed a fine of Rs. One Lac each and in default of payment of fine the accused persons will further undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years.
The Brief facts of the case are that on 26-1-2019, the police party, headed by Sub Inspector Het Ram, was present at the place near Matiyana in connection with patrolling and traffic checking.
At about 2.30 P.M. one Alto Car with the registration number HP-35-1111 arrived on the spot from the side of Rampur. When the vehicle was being signaled to be stopped, the driver of the vehicle made an attempt to flee from the spot, but his attempt was aborted by the police by blocking the road with the help of an official vehicle.
The vehicle was driven by the accused Mahender Singh ‘and accused Vinod was also found sitting inside. When the police checked the vehicle they found charas inside the bag.
The total weight of the Charas was 4.03 T Kg. Thereafter the accused were arrested under section 18, 20 NDPS Act, and prosecution was launched. The case was conducted by Sh. Kapil Mohan Gautam, Public Prosecutor, Shimla, H.P
