Lauding the efforts of Anganwadi workers and helpers, Social Justice and Empowerment (SJE) Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil said that they play a pivotal role in ensuring the overall development of children. He commended their part in making sure that the tiny tots between the age group of 3 and 6 years had access to education, sports, and adequate nutrition.
He said this while interacting with the delegation of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union in his office here today. He said that the government would devote adequate resources to the effective operation of Anganwadi centers. He emphasized the government’s commitment to make sure that these facilities run in a smooth manner and without any delay while acknowledging the critical role that Anganwadis play in determining the future of our children.
The Union was represented by its President Neelam Jaswal and General Secretary, Veena Sharma.
The delegation also placed forth their demands before the Minister which includes providing mobile phones to work on Poshan Tracker app, holding grievances redressal meetings on a regular basis in districts besides other demands. The SJE minister assured that their genuine demands will be considered sympathetically.
Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment, M. Sudha Devi, Director, Women and Child Development, Neelam Thakur were also present in the meeting amongst others.
