Admin. searching space for electric vehicle charging station in Shimla 

Himachal Pradesh Government decided to make three tourist townships including Shimla, Manali and Dharmshala free from air polluting Diesel and Petrol Vehicles forcing Shimla district Administration to search two space in the town for setting up the Electric Vehicle charging stations. In a press release issued here today Additional Deputy Commissioner Shimla Shivam Pratap Singh today convened a meeting regarding setting up of charging stations or points for charging electric vehicles in Shimla city. He said that two charging stations are being proposed to be set up in suitable parking places under Shimla city.

ADC said that this step was being taken by the state government to promote the use of electric vehicles in various government departments with a view to promote renewable source of energy and pollution free environment.  Due to which the place is being selected for setting up charging stations in the parking lots of all the departments in Shimla city.  He instructed all the departments to ensure that the information about whether space is available in the charging station in their parking lot or not is sent to the office before December 16, 2022, so that the information could be sent to the state government for further action.  On this occasion, Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation BR Sharma and other officials of various departments were present. It is worthwhile to mention here today Chief Minister Sukvhinder Singh Sukhu decided to impose van on the Petrol and diesel vehicles in the three tourists destination to improve the air quality and environment from the adverse impact of high carbon emission and air pollutants.
