103 cases of Dengue surface in Sirmour district
The water-born disease is spreading in the state as a number of cases of Scrub Typhus and Dengue are pouring into state hospitals daily.
ADM Nahan LR Verma informed that so far 103 cases of dengue have been found in the Sirmaur district.
He said that many cases of dengue are coming in the Paonta area, similarly dengue cases have come in Nahan city also. A meeting of the District Task Force Committee for the prevention of dengue was held in Nahan on Monday under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate LR Verma.
The Additional District Magistrate directed the Health Department to take necessary steps for the prevention of dengue.
He said that children should be given information about dengue prevention in the morning prayer meetings in schools. Similarly, through Panchayat, people should be made aware of the prevention of dengue in rural areas.
Additional District Magistrate said that instructions have been given to make proper arrangements for the treatment of dengue patients in all the hospitals of the district.
He said that although in most cases dengue patients do not need to be admitted to the hospital, as a precaution, advance preparations should be made in the hospitals in view of the possibility of an unexpected increase in cases.
He said that fogging work should be ensured twice a day in urban areas, apart from this, drainage of water should be made proper so that dengue does not flourish in dirty drains. The Additional District Magistrate asked the Health Panchayati Raj Education Department to work together to make people aware of dengue.
He said that fogging work should also be done in the Kala Amb industrial area. District Program Officer Health Dr. Vinod Sangal gave detailed information on the work being done by the Health Department for the prevention of dengue.
