S.R. Harnot’s novel Nadi Rang Jaisi Ladki launched by two eminent writers
A novel Nadi Rang Jaisi Ladki was launched during National seminar organized by Himachal Creative Writers Forum on World Environment Day at Shimla Rotary Club Town Hall today . The book “Nadi Rang Jaisi Ladki” was authored by famous story writer SR Harnot and published by Vani Prakashan. The book was unveiled by Mr. Rakesh Kanwar, Secretary Language and Art of Himachal Pradesh who was chief guest in the seminar. Prof. Abdul Bismillah,an eminent Novelist and Prof. Suraj Paliwal critic was present on this occasion. Prof. Abdul Bismillah said that this novel is a story of inhuman interference in the nature. In Indian culture, there is a philosophical concept of “Prakriti and Purusha”, in that “Purusha” means either God or man created by him. But when the same form of “Purusha” becomes “Parush”(alien), then nature is destroyed. This is the dehumanization of human beings. Nature can never be unnatural, therefore it remains natural(origin) like Sunma Dei, the main character of this novel. Harnot has carved these concerns and struggles very deeply in this novel for which he deserves congratulations. Delivering keynote address eminent critic, Prof. Suraj Paliwal said that Harnot is a rare Hindi story writer who has a treasure trove of untouched and unique stories of Himachali life. Congratulating Harnot, Paliwal said that in his new novel, he has raised the issue of environment, water and women in a deep way. He said that Harnot had also authored similar popular novel like Hidimb.He said that Harnot is a great storyteller, has a great vision and has a wonderful grasp on the language. Dr. Neelabh, Visiting Fellow of the Institute of Higher Studies, while taking forward the discussion on new novel said that this novel introduces us to the simplest and most intuitive way of ‘his’ saying, that contemporary Hindi The story is unique in the world. Speaking on Harnot’s novel, Dr. Rajendra Badgujar, as Permanent Fellow at the Institute of Higher Studies, Shimla, said that the theme of the novel encompasses the folk culture, heritage and horrific changes in Himachal Pradesh. In this, the main characters Sunma and Shatdru river have become synonymous. Young critic Prashant Raman Ravi, in his statement, said that Harnot’s novel, ‘Nadi Rang Jaisi Ladki ‘, is an important work in the present times, keeping the environmental crisis and women’s discourse at the center.
