Sizzling heatwave in Himachal, Una at 41 Degrees Celsius

Sizzling heatwave conditions developed in the plains and foothills of Himachal Pradesh as the Maximum temperature stayed at 41 degrees Celsius for the last two days.

Scorching and sweltering heatwave conditions have developed due to humid and sunny weather in Una, Hamirpur, Sirmaur, and Kangra districts as Mercury stayed three to four degrees above normal.

The maximum temperature of Una stayed at 41 degrees Celsius for the last two days, Bilaspur 39 degrees, Hamirpur 35.8 degrees, Nahan in Sirmour, Mandi, and Kangra 35 each, Dharmshala 31.5, Jubbarhati airport 30 and Bhuntar airport 32.8.

Tourist resort Kufri was 20, Manali 24.6, Dalhousie 23.4, Shimla 26.8, V Chamba 29.7, and Keylong 16.6 degrees

A yellow alert was also issued by the Indian Meteorological Department forecasting

Light to moderate rainfall at a few places accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds at isolated places in the districts of Shimla, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kullu, Sirmaur, Kangra, Mandi, and Kinnaur in the next 24 hrs.

 Possibility of hailstorm at Shimla ( Kumarsain . Rohru, Kotkhaie, Jubbal, Chopal ), Sirmaur ( Shillaie, Ronhat ), Mandi ( Janjheli ), Kullu ( Anni ), Mandi ( Katauala, Sarkaghat ), Kangra ( Baijnath ) and adjoining areas.

 Heatwaves and inclement weather may Impact Expected Lightning may injure people and cattle in open places. 

Advisory Stay indoors, close windows & doors and avoid travel if possible. Take safe shelters; do not take shelter under trees. Unplug electrical and electronic appliances.
