Life time achievement award to Chairman Himachal Electricity Regulatory Commission

Chairman, Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission, Devendra Kumar Sharma, has been given Aqua Foundation’s Dam Safety Life Time Achievement Award 2021 during the fifteenth World Aqua Congress and Dam Safety Conclave being held virtually in New Delhi from 14th to 17th September, 2021.
This Dam Safety Life Time Achievement Award is given to a person in the country who has made significant contribution in the field of dam safety. Previously Sh. Sharma managed Bhakra Beas Management Board as its Chairman, from April, 2017 to July, 2020. Theme of this year’s World Aqua Congress is Valuing Water (beyond Pricing Environmental, Social and Cultural Value). Aqua Foundation lauded significant contribution made by Sh. Sharma towards the dam safety in managing the assets of national importance, operation of reservoirs and distribution of water and electricity to the partner states during his tenure in BBMB including his work and contributions during the last forty years in water resources, dam engineering and energy sectors in remote and difficult locations throughout the Country.
Sh. Sharma thanked Aqua Foundation for the award and dedicated this award to his team mates who worked with him on challenging assignments during his professional career of 40 years.  He said that hopefully, this award would also inspire young professionals coming from small towns and villages with big dreams.  He said that he is deeply honoured for recognition of his contribution towards Nation Building.
