Landslides triggered in Himachal by unseasonal rain and snow
Himachal Pradesh witnessing unseasonal rain and snow triggering landslide and boulders are rolling down on the roads and disruption water flow in many tributaries. According to information received from BRO , stones are continuously falling from the hill near Pangi-Killar Highway (SH-26) Rohli, due to which the road is closed towards Pangi. Heavy boulders could be seen dangersly coming down in the roads near Rohli blocking road communication and disrupting movement of chandrabhaga river. In the district Kukumseri received four cm snow and keylong one cm. Tourist resort Dalhousie got 38 mm rain, Saloni in Chamba-21mm, Chamba-19 mm Dharmshala-15 mm Bharmaur & Palampur-12 each, Seobagh-10, Chuari-9, Ghamroor, Manali, Kufri, Kothi, Chhatrari, Solan & Chaupal-8 each, Nagrota Suriyan-7mm, Gaggal, Banjar, Naina Devi, Jogindernagar, Baijnath 6mm each and Paonta Sahib-5 mm.Report arriving here said that high reaches like Rohtang pass, Kunzum pass, Lady of Keylong, Seven sisters hill, Kinner Kailash of Kinnuar , Pangi and Bharmour of Chamba, Dhauldhar of Kangra, Chanshal, Churdhar of Shimla are received fresh spell of snowfall and many places received light to moderate spell of rainfall. IMD sounds yellow alert and inclement weather in next 24 hrs.
It said that in view of active western disturbance passing through western Himalayan region scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall or snowfall is likely to occur over the state during next 3-4 days .Light to moderate snowfall also likely isolated parts of district Chamba, Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, Sirmaur and Shimla from today onwards till 21st March 2023.Development of thunderstorms or lightning accompanied with hailstorm likely to occur in isolated parts of the State during 17 th to 20th March in the distt of chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur. Fall in average minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees in the State from 17th March onwards. Fall in average maximum temperatures by 3-4 degrees in the State from today onwards. Department also issued an Advisory to horticulturist to use anti hail nets over the crops and Installation of anti hail guns wherever possible. Minimum temperature of Shimla was 8.4 degrees, Bhuntar airport 8, Kalpa 2, Dharamshala 10.2 Una 12.6, Nahan 15, Keylong minus 1.7, Solan 8, Manali 5, Kanggra 13, Mandi 10.3 Bilaspur 14.5, Hamirpur 12, Chamba 10.4, Dalhousie 5.4, Jubberhatti Airport 10, Tourist resort Kufri 3.7 and Narakanda 2.1.
