Himachal Govt issues night curfew notification

In-wake of sudden spike in the Covid positive cases in the state and threat of new Covid variant Omicron state government released night curfew and other restrictions in the state with immediate effect.
A notification approved by Chairman of State Executive Committee and Chief Secretary Mr  Ram Subhag Singh said that taking note of the present situation of COVID-19 in the State and in view of the initial signs of surge in cases of COVID-19 as well as increased detection of the Variant of Concern (VoC), ‘Omicron’, in different parts of the country, he Order to impose Covid restriction under powers conferred under section 22(2)(h) and section 24 of the Disaster Management Act 2005.


Notification states that there shall be Night Curfew in the State from 2200 hrs to 0500 hrs (10PM to 5AM).
Cinema Halls, Multiplex, Sports Complex, Stadiums, Swimming Pools, Gymnasiums shall remain closed till further order. 
 No langar shall be allowed in religious places and places of worship. 
 Beside this all indoor or covered areas and open spaces including marriage palaces & banquet halls, for all social, academic,  sports, entertainment, cultural,  political, religious and other congregations are allowed with 50 per cent of the capacity subject to adherence of the COVID-19 safety protocols and COVID appropriate behavior.
 The Hotels & Restaurants shall remain open subject to strict adherence to COVID Appropriate Behavior. No Mask-No Service” policy will remain operational in the State. All the Departments and Organizations of the Government, District Magistrates, Police Officers and Local Authorities of the State are directed to ensure strict compliance with the directions.
Any person found violating these measures and not following COVID appropriate behavior would be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Section 51-60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides entailing legal action under Section 188 of the IPC, and other legal provisions as applicable. 
This order would come into effect immediately in all districts and shall remain in force till further order.
