Govt bans entry of Hijab wearing students in Himachal instutions

Following the line of counter part Karnataka Government the state BJP government also decided to not allow entery of any students  wearing Hijab in all Educational Institutions of Himachal Pradesh as Institutions are scheduled to open from Feb 17 after Covid lockdown and winter vacation.
Interacting with electronic media here today Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Govind Singh Thakur said that students wearing hijab would not be allowed in educational institutions in the state.
Significantly, the government has decided to open schools from February 17 in the council of ministers meeting held on December 13.
 Amidst the ongoing ruckus over hijab across the country, the Education Minister said in  State school students would not get entry on arrival in schools and colleges.  
He said that one has to come according to the dress code in educational institutions and hijab is not allowed in educational institutions. 
 Following Controversy over hijab in a college in Karnataka this statement of the minister is considered important before the school opens in the state after one and half months lockdown and winter breaks 
Education Minister said that it is not proper to give religious color to this issue.

 The Education Minister said that such an issue should not be created and insistence on wearing a burqa in educational institutions is wrong.  
“On the other hand, if we talk about it, then the leaders of the opposition are also getting different reactions on this issue.” he observed.
