Strict action will be ensured against those who adulterate medicines: Shandil

Health Minister Himachal Pradesh government has taken strict cognizance of adulteration found in some medicines manufactured in Baddi.  Strict legal action is being implemented against such drug makers.  Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr.  (Col) Dhaniram Shandil gave this information during a press conference held at the Secretariat here today.  He said that the state government is determined to provide state-of-the-art technology and facilities in all the hospitals so that quality health services can be provided at the doorsteps of the people of the state.  He said that Himachal Pradesh ranks third in the country in drug production.  In such a situation, it is a matter of concern that samples of some medicines manufactured in Himachal Pradesh fail and cases of adulteration come to the fore.  The state government will take strict steps to ensure the quality of Jan Aushadhis.  Suspected drug manufacturers are being closely monitored by the Health Department through the Drug Control Team.  Legal action will be taken against those drug manufacturers whose drug samples have failed more than once by canceling their licenses.  The Health Minister said that the State Government is also considering the expansion of the Drug Testing Control System.  In the future, it is also being considered to set up a laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art technology for complete quality certification of medicines

    This problem will not solve only by arresting or restricting the manufacturer and retail sellers. The main role in this nexus is bulk drugs traders and manufacturers. If formulation companies will not get spurious pharma raw material in bulk, how they can produce fake/ spurious medicines? This can only be stopped by controlling the bulk drug traders. Some of money hungry people are making fun of this industry. With the help of huge bribes the main victims like owners of M/s. k.c.overseas pvt ltd are still escaping. They are still not been arrested by Himachal government. Until unless actual culprits will not be punished this will keep on going and the defaulters will keep on growing. This company has recently taken a loan of Rs. 75 crores (totalling rs. 130 crores) from different banks. Imagine what can they do with such a huge funds…
