Snowfall allures Tourist rise amid thick-frost layer, freezing temperature
The Number of tourist who made beeline and allured by the forecast of snowfall in major tourist destination in the state rose amid thick layer of frost and freezing temperature in the state this morning.
Past night witnessed a thick sheet of frost in the major tourist destination plummeting night temperature under subzero and in minus as Minimum temperature of Kaza and Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti was minus 17 and minus 10.3 degree Celsius and two to three degrees below normal.
Number of tourist vehicle are skidding on black ice on Manali-ATR-Keylong (Rohtang) and vehicles are hitting each other on slippery roads.
Lahaul-Spiti district administration sounded advisory that significant black icing on South Portal side so avoid unnecessary travelling.
Only four wheel drive vehicles and taxis are allowed to Tourists and local people to ply on the road to avert the mishap however all types of Pangi and Lahaul vehicles are allowed.
Drivers are advised to adhere to all safe winter driving habits on NH-03.
Moreover Tourist vehicles would be allowed from 1000 to 1500hrs.
Tourists who are thronging in tourrist resort Manali, Dalhousie, Kufri and Narkanda dismayed due to bone shivering coldwave as they rise this morning with thick sheet of frost and freezing temperature, Kalpa town in Kinnaur recorded minus 4.3 degrees, Manali and Dalhousie (Chamba) minus one degrees and Kufri minus 1.8 degrees.
Minimum temperature of Sundernagar in Mandi and Solan was 0.6 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 1.5 degrees, Chamba 2.3 degrees, Shimla 2.8 degrees, Mandi three degrees, Palampur 3.5 degrees and Mandi 3.7 degrees, Bilaspur and Poanta-Shaib in Sirmaur four degrees each, Una and Kangra 4.4 degrees each, Dharmshala 8.5 degrees and Nahan in Sirmaur 9.5 degrees.
