NHAI engineer caught taking bribe
National Highway Authority of India Resident Engineer caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 50000 for providing consent for four-lane access in Kullu today.
An FIR ( No. 01/2024) registered on January 10, 2024, under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (amended Act 2018) has been registered in SV&ACB, Police Station Kullu (HP) against the accused Sh. Devanshu Kumar at present working as (R.E.) Resident Engineer, NHAI R/o VPO Bhuntar, District Kullu (HP) today.
SV &ACB received information at Police Station SV&ACB Kullu that the complainant has applied NHAI for NOC to provide access for them to the four-lane road on November 19, 2023.
This application was still pending with Resident Engineer (R.E.) NHAI Devanshu Kumar demanded a bribe of Rs 50000 instead of giving NOC/Approval for giving access for them to the four-lane road.
The accused called the complainant to meet him near Bhuntar vegetable market along with the bribe amount of Rs 50,000.
In this regard, a raid was conducted by Inspector Ram Nath and the bribe amount of Rs 50,000/- was recovered from the possession of above (R.E) Resident Engineer Sh. Devanshu Kumar. Further investigation is being going on.
