MoU signed between SDMA & BRB for the well-being of children during disasters
State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) Himachal Pradesh and Bal Raksha Bharat (BRB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance Child-Centric Disaster Management strategies, the safety protection and well-being of children during disasters and emergencies in the state.
The MoU was signed by D.C Rana Director cum Special Secretary Revenue on behalf of SDMA and by Santanu Chakraborty, Director Programme Support on behalf of BRB. Onkar Chand Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Revenue, Director cum ex-officio Special Secretary Rev, Dr. Krishan Chand was also present on the occasion.
This partnership represents a significant step toward ensuring that children in Himachal Pradesh are safeguarded and supported during disasters and emergencies. By combining the expertise and resources of SDMA and Bal Raksha Bharat, this MoU promises a resilient and child-centric disaster management framework in the state.
Through this MoU, both parties would aim to chalk out strategies to mainstreaming Volunteer Cadres thus developing mechanisms to integrate Anganwadi workers, teachers, and ASHA workers into a volunteer-based cadre to ensure & “Zero Day Loss” and “Zero Death” for children during disasters and emergencies.
