Interactive Convention in Shimla to Address Drug Abuse Crisis on International Literacy Day
In a significant move to tackle the growing issue of substance abuse, the Rajya Gyan Vigyan Kender (SRC) in collaboration with various government departments, civil society organizations, and movements, is organizing an interactive convention on International Literacy Day (ILD) on 8th September at Bachat Bhawan, Shimla.
This convention, centered around the theme “How to Combat the Menace of Substance (Drug) Abuse and Save Our Future Generation,” aims to bring together experts, stakeholders, and concerned citizens to address the pressing challenge of drug abuse, which continues to claim lives and disrupt communities in Himachal Pradesh.
Recent news has been rife with reports of drug-related tragedies—overdoses, accidents, and significant seizures of narcotics such as Chitta, making it clear that the fight against drug abuse is far from over. Despite various efforts, the desired results seem elusive, raising crucial questions that this convention hopes to address.
The organizers are extending a special invitation to participants to share their experiences and insights. The discussion will focus on identifying the main challenges hindering progress in the fight against drug abuse in Himachal and exploring collaborative solutions that government bodies and social organizations can implement.
The event promises to be a vital platform for generating actionable ideas and strategies to safeguard future generations from the scourge of drug addiction.
Let’s come together on 8th September to contribute our thoughts and work towards a drug-free Himachal.
