HPU VC seeks relinquish from HPU Vice Chancellor Post
Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University R P Bansal has applied to the Governor of Himachal Pradesh to seek to relinquish from this post as he is holding the posting the Vice Chancellor post of Central University of Himachal Pradesh at Dharmshala since July 28, 2021.
Seeking relinquishment from the Vice Chancellor post of Himachal Pradesh University Mr. Bansal has applied to the Governor for seeking to leave this post. Though VC has explained that he is busy discharging the duty of Vice Chancellor of Central University. Mr. Bansal replaced the former Vice-chancellor Prof Sikander Kumar from this post who was elected Rajya Sabha member on the BJP ticket.
They are report that the new state Government in Himachal Pradesh is not comfortable with the present VC of HPU and he may have been forced to quit the dual charge of VC as the two universities could not be run same time. In a recent session of the state assembly number of members sought a probe into the posting of the faculty members being done by the BJP government in HPU and Sardar Patel University Mandi.
There are complaints that faculty members were appointed in violation of UGC norms however State Government could not able to conduct any probe on such appointment so far.
