Himachal per capital income increase from Rs 651 to Rs 1.95 lakh in 50 yrs CM Jai Ram Thakur
Himachal has achieved many milestones in every sphere of life as after forming 18 state in Indian Republic in last 50 yrs per capita income have increased from Rs 651 to Rs 1.95 lakh. This was stated by CM Jai Ram Thakur who is addressing the state assembly in presence of President of India Mr Ramnath Kovnid . Mr Thakur said that this hill state begin political journey from a Central administrative Part- C state after formation of Himachal from merging of 33 princely estates on April, 15, 1948 and it was achieved complete state hood 50 yrs ago on 25 Jan 1971.
After formation of the state the were almost negligible no one could imagine of use of modern machines
and technology for the development process however in last 50 yrs state have made long leap in the
developmental process..
The per capita income of people of this hill state was just Rs 651 per person which now gone up to Rs 1.95
in 2020-21. Total length of road was just 7370 km which is increased to 37500 km and Prime minister Atal Behari
Vajpayee had launched the PM Sarak Yojana and also helped to link every village of the state with roads transforming the
hill state. There was not industry in the state till giving special economic and industrial package Himachal Pradesh however
today state made major transformation in the industry and helped to provide employment opportunities to a number of state youth.
Himachal is leading hydro power and power-surplus state in the country as it produces about 11500 megawatt power that of 45000 mw
being produced in the country as it all towns and vilalges are 100 per cent electrified.
In 1971 people of state relied on the Buries and natural water sources for the drinking water . In the last 50 yrs all villages have water taps in their kitchen and bath room. State have also achieved major transportation in the health sectors as state have only
587 health institutions and hospitals today have as many as 4188 hospitals including AIIMS and four medical colleges.
He said that people of state have just 26 per cent literacy rate which is now 83 and state is known among the few
best performing states in Health and Education.
Highlighting his prioritise as chief minister Mr Thakur said that he was working to increase the employment avenues and
self employment in the state . A global investment meet was organised for the first time in the state which was attended
by Prime minister Narendra Modi . He said that state attract large number of tourists as successive government
brought this small hill state in the tourist map of world witnessed footfall of lakhs of tourist every year also boosting the
local economy.
I would give the credit of great achievement made in the last 50 yrs to every government and leader as legislators
MPs, every one worked hard as on today this state stand among the top performing state in the country and competing
in every sector.
Mr Thakur said that state achieved 100 per cent Covid target of vaccination and did not allowed to affect the
economic progress.
