Himachal Monsoon Update: Heavy Rain Predicted After July 10

As Himachal Pradesh enters its second week of monsoon, the state has experienced a monsoon break with moderate rainfall observed in select areas. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon is expected to regain momentum after July 10.

Currently, the state is recording normal rainfall, with some areas witnessing heavy showers. Compared to previous years, the monsoon situation in Himachal Pradesh remains relatively normal. Overcast skies are prevalent in many regions, including the capital city, Shimla.

A bulletin from the Shimla Meteorological Center indicates light rain in several locations over the last 24 hours. There have been no significant changes in the minimum and maximum temperatures, with Kukmaseri recording the lowest at 10 degrees Celsius and Bilaspur the highest at 36.6 degrees Celsius. The center predicts that the monsoon will intensify after July 10, with heavy to very heavy rains expected in various parts of Himachal Pradesh.

Meteorologist from the Shimla Meteorological Center reported normal rainfall in the state over the past 24 hours. Districts such as Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Shimla, Sirmaur, and Chamba have seen normal to moderate rainfall. Bilaspur’s Madgaon area experienced heavy to very heavy rainfall. The rain pattern is expected to persist in the coming days, with normal to moderate rainfall continuing until July 10. Post-July 10, rainfall activity is forecasted to increase, bringing heavy to very heavy rains to several regions in Himachal Pradesh.
