Higher reaches of Himachal receive light snowfall, mercury dips again
The high reaches of Himachal Pradesh are draped by fresh spells of snowfall increasing coldwave conditions in the state.
According to Met Office Keylong in Lahaul Spiti had five cm and Gondhla four cm, Kothi in Kullu had 6.8 mm of rain, Shimla 5.6 mm, and Manali three mm.
The high reaches of Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti had light to moderate spells of snowfall.
After the latest snowfall, the entire Lahaul Spiti district is cut off from the rest of the world. Rohtang Tunnel is currently completely closed to traffic. Similarly, vehicular movement is closed on the road connecting Koksar and Sisu.
Besides the high peaks of Kullu and Lahaul Spiti districts, light snowfall has also occurred on the high mountains of Shimla, Chamba, Kangra, and Mandi.
This will also enhance the beauty of Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur, and Shimla tourist places.

Currently, the mercury in areas like Kalpa, Keylong, Samdo, Koksar, Rohtang, etc. has fallen much below minus. Due to this, a cold wave is running in higher areas in the morning and evening.
The temperature of Keylong has fallen to minus 4.6 degrees, Kalpa to 0.8 degrees, and Samdo to minus 2.6 degrees. At the same time, the minimum temperature of Manali has fallen to 2.9 degrees, Narkanda to 2.5, Reckong Peo to 2.2 degrees, and Kufri to 4.4 degrees.
