Hamirpur’s Drought Will End After 21 Years : Rajeev Rana
Rajeev Rana, Chairman of the Workers and Employees Congress Pradesh and Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Congress, campaigned for Congress candidate Dr. Pushpender Verma by holding a street meeting and door-to-door canvassing in Jaral village of Ukhli Gram Panchayat.
Rajeev Rana stated that the BJP candidate has betrayed the trust of the people of Hamirpur. For the first time in history, an MLA has resigned only to seek re-election. Instead of considering the people of Hamirpur, the former MLA prioritized his own interests. However, the love and faith shown by the people of Hamirpur towards Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu indicate that Congress candidate Dr. Pushpender Verma will win with a huge majority.
Rana highlighted that the government led by Chief Minister Sukhu has implemented several public welfare initiatives such as the Old Pension Scheme, the Pyaari Behna Samman Nidhi of ₹1500, and ₹4500 crore for disaster relief. Additionally, the establishment of a medical college, a cancer institute, and a bus stand costing ₹62 crore in Hamirpur demonstrates that the Sukhu-led Congress government is for the people. Dr. Pushpender Verma’s victory will significantly contribute to the development of Hamirpur.
Speaking about the current situation in Hamirpur, Rana mentioned that the independent candidate, Ashish Sharma, was elected by the people for five years but betrayed their trust due to personal interests. The BJP candidate, associated with the mining mafia, has used the people only for his own benefit. However, the people of Hamirpur have now made up their minds to reject the BJP candidate.
Rana added that BJP workers and affiliates are feeling suffocated within their own party after the entry of Ashish Sharma. He asserted that after 21 years, Hamirpur’s drought will end with the overwhelming support for Pushpender Verma in the Hamirpur Assembly constituency.
Alongside Rajeev Rana, booth president Gyan Chand, Atar Singh, Anu Shivam, and other local officials campaigned for Dr. Pushpender Verma.
