Governor Shukla emphasizes holistic development and values at a school in Sirmaur

While presiding over the annual prize distribution ceremony of Divine Wisdom School in Majra, Paonta, Sirmaur district, as the Chief Guest, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla emphasized providing opportunities based on the abilities and interests of students. He added that unnecessary pressure should not be imposed on them.

Referring to the “Pran Pratishtha” program in Ayodhya on January 22, the Governor mentioned that this festival was celebrated not only in India but also in many countries worldwide to witness these historical moments. He commended the school children for bringing the same scene alive with their presentation, stating that a school lacking in character building gradually lost its identity.

Shri Shukla highlighted that the recently awarded Padma Awards recognized individuals working to protect the environment and serve the people. He emphasized that success in life goes beyond mere numbers. Expressing concern over the excessive use of television and mobile phones among children, he urged parents to spend more time with their children, cautioning against losing them in the race of competition. He also stressed the need to think about becoming job providers rather than job seekers due to limited job opportunities and high competition.

The Governor noted the drug trade in Himachal, known as Devbhoomi, as a matter of concern. He emphasized that the police administration alone cannot eliminate drug addiction; collective awareness is necessary.

During the ceremony, the Governor presented awards to meritorious students across all standards.

Chairman of Divine Wisdom School Neeraj Goel, extended a warm welcome to the Governor, and Meenakshi Malhotra, Principal, read out the school’s annual report.

The students showcased a cultural program during the event.
