Dr. Sikandar Kumar becomes Rajya Sabha MP from Himachal

Dr. Sikandar Kumar, the former Vice-chancellor of HP University was today declared unopposed as the Member Parliament for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh today.

No candidate was fielded from the Congress party in this election. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Chief Minister’s political advisor Trilok Jamwal were specially present when the secretary of the Vidhan sabha handed over the certificate to the winner.

The BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha took out a massive rally from the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar at Chaura Maidan to the assembly, in which Sikandar Kumar was carried on his shoulder to the assembly.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the process for the Rajya Sabha seat of Himachal Pradesh was completed and Dr. Sikandar Kumar of BJP was victorious. While congratulating Sikander Kumar, he said that Dr. Sikander Kumar has contributed a lot to the BJP.

The Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, and BJP State President Suresh Kashyap for this appointment.

He also thanked Congress that no nomination was made on his behalf.

He said that Sikander Kumar would work for the development of Himachal and as an MP would give full cooperation for the progress of Himachal.

The newly-elected Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sikander Kumar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, and BJP State President Suresh Kashyap for this new responsibility.

He also thanked all the BJP workers, ministers, and MLAs.

He said that I will live up to the assurance of the workers and workers and will leave no stone unturned to accelerate the pace of development of Himachal Pradesh. I will always be ready

for public service.

He said that he would make every effort to bring schemes from the Center to the state at the earliest. It will be my goal to strengthen the economy of Himachal and increase employment.
