BJP leaders in Shimla emphasize the importance of reforms

During a ceremony at the BJP state office Deep Kamal in Shimla, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and State BJP President Dr. Rajeev Bindal hoisted the Indian flag to mark the 78th Independence Day. The event was attended by prominent party members, including State Organization General Secretary Siddharthan, MP Dr. Sikandar Kumar, State General Secretary Bihari Lal Sharma, Treasurer Kamal Sood, Office Secretary Pramod Thakur, Media In-Charge Karn Nanda, District President Prem Thakur, Sanjay Sood, Rakesh Ghai, and others.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rajeev Bindal praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day speech, highlighting its unique message. He emphasized that while the central government, state governments, and officials must fulfill their duties, the 140 crore citizens of India must also contribute to the nation’s progress. By 2047, India aims to become a developed nation, requiring reforms at every level. Dr. Bindal stressed that each individual and institution should undertake at least two reforms this year. Whether in Panchayati Raj institutions, municipal bodies, or state and central governments, every entity must contribute to these reforms, leading to significant transformation across the country.

Dr. Bindal further lauded PM Modi’s stance against dynastic politics, comparing it to the rule of royal families in monarchies, which he deemed unacceptable and detrimental to national development. He also reiterated PM Modi’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and the focus on inclusive development for the poor, youth, farmers, and women.

Highlighting India’s role in education, Dr. Bindal expressed the nation’s ambition to reestablish Nalanda and transform India into a global education hub. He also underlined the importance of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) for national unity, supporting PM Modi’s assertion that UCC is crucial for India’s progress. Additionally, PM Modi’s call for “One Nation, One Election” was applauded for its potential to save billions of rupees and ensure consistent national development.

Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur also extended his greetings on the occasion and praised PM Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. He emphasized the significance of the “One Nation, One Vote” initiative, which he believes will save the country substantial resources.

The event concluded with the distribution of sweets, with Siddharthan offering sweets to Dr. Rajeev Bindal and Jairam Thakur to commemorate the occasion.
