Youth and Sports Club of Shimla organized Sahara Cup 2023
Sahara Cup 2023 concluded today at Shada Green Park Stadium, Karyali organized under the aegis of Youth and Sports Club of Shimla Rural Assembly Constituency, with the aim of promoting sports in rural areas and warning against increasing drug addiction among the youth, in which various sportspersons of the region participated. 75 teams of Panchayats participated. Zilla Parishad member Reena Kumari Yubak Mandal head Kushal Sharma and Hukmi Sharma were also present on the occasion.
Harikrishna Himral, Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, in-charge of Congress Training Department, attending as the chief guest, gave away prizes to all the participants. In his address, he exhorted the participants to move ahead in life with sports. He said that through such an event, the players in the state cannot get a better chance than this to enhance their talent.
Mentioning the excellent performance of three Yuba women in the Indian women’s cricket team, Himral said that it is a matter of great pride for the state. He said that the women’s cricket team of the state deserves congratulations for this. Calling upon the participants to follow these women players, he said that they too should move forward along with playing with full dedication and devotion to bring laurels to the state.
Himral called upon all the participants to pursue the spirit of the game while also alerting them about the growing intoxication and said that they should come forward in the direction of moving forward like women cricket players while being conscious of their future.
On this occasion, State Congress Committee member Satya Verma, BD member from Karyali Priyanka Kashyap, deputy head of Nagar Panchayat Shyama Devi, head of Karyali, deputy head Vinod Kumar, general secretary of District Congress Committee Rural Lekh Ram Kaundal, secretary of Block Congress Committee Apart from Joginder Thakur, Shada head of Youth and Sports Club, Kushal Sharma and Rama Nand Sharma, many dignitaries were present.
Himral also presented a cash prize of one lakh rupees to the first position team and fifty thousand rupees to the second team on behalf of the club.
