World Sanskrit Day’ celebrated in Dadgi School
On the occasion of World Sanskrit Day, Government Senior Secondary School Dadgi organized a Shloka Gayan and Sanskrit Geetika competition along with deep contemplation on the importance of Sanskrit language and literature. Students of all the four houses of the school participated in it. In the Shloka Gayan competition, under the junior category, Dushyant of Vivek House, Riya of Savitri House and Garima of Atal House secured first, second and third positions respectively. Under the senior category, Kartikeya of Atal House secured first, Vanita of Vivek House secured second and Leena of Ambedkar House secured third position. In Sanskrit Geetika, under the junior category, Vaishali of Savitri House, Gautam of Ambedkar House and Kumkum of Atal House secured first, second and third positions respectively. Under the same competition, in the senior category, Pushp of Savitri House secured first, Diksha Thakur of Atal House secured second and Divyanka of Vivek House secured third position.
Sanskrit teacher Kameshwar Sharma said on this occasion that Sanskrit is not only the language of the Vedas but is the soul of Indian culture. Sanskrit literature has been very rich in India. Maharishi Ved Vyas composed all the four Vedas in Sanskrit. The great texts of Hinduism, Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta, Upanishads, Valmiki Ramayana are the soul of Sanskrit literature.
On this occasion, the Principal of the school Brijlal while congratulating all the students and colleagues on Sanskrit Day said that all of us Indians, along with being proud of the glory of Sanskrit language, should play our leading role in its promotion and propagation.
