Work of Gausadans to be completed  within stipulated time period: Virender Kanwar

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Virender Kanwar presided over a review meeting of the Animal Husbandry Department held here today. Various schemes of the Centre and State Governments being run in the interest of cattle farming in the state were reviewed in the meeting.

Virender Kanwar said that the State Government is determined to protect the Gauvansh and with the efforts of the present State Government, the numbers of Gauvansh in Gaushalas and Gausadans have increased from six thousand to more than 20 thousand. He said that in the current financial year, five big cow sanctuaries and Gausdans were being established in the state. He said that Utkristh farms were being established for conservation of Himachali pahari breed cow. He said that it has been decided to increase the grant amount from Rs. 500 to Rs. 700 under the Gopal system for Gauvansh in the Gausadans.

The Animal Husbandry Minister also directed the officers to complete the construction work of all such Gausadans well in time and make them functional, for which funds have been released through Gauseva Aayog.

He said that the double engine government at the Centre and State has launched many schemes for the cattle farmers. All the officers should work with more sincerity and dedication ensuring the benefits of these departmental schemes made available to all the eligible beneficiaries in a time bound manner, he said.

Secretary Animal Husbandry Dr. Ajay Sharma assured the Minister that the implementation of all the schemes would be further expedited in a time bound manner at the departmental level.

Director Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma conducted the proceedings of the meeting.

The departmental officers of all the districts virtually attended the meeting.
