Windstorm & rain lashed some places of HP, high reaches had mild Snowfall
High Speed windstorm hit many places of Himachal Pradesh damaging stone fruits in mid hills. Few places also got light to moderate spell of rainfall in Shimla, Solan , Hamirpur and Mandi district and high reaches of Kangra, Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti had mild Snowfall. Mango, walnut, Peach, appricot crops are damaged by the midnight windstorm causing massive drop of ripening fruits and knocking tree branches. The windstorm also blown off roofs of some houses and cowsheds. Power and water supply affected in most places of Shimla, Sirmaur and Solan district which could not restore in many places till this afternoon. The rainshowers would help to bring down the soaring Mercury and prolonged dry spell. Kotkhai ( had 2.2 mm rain, Solan :31.7 Jhandutta(Bilaspur): 30.2 . Kufri (Shimla) 29.5 Raigarh (Sirmaur) 28.6 , Shillaru(Shimla) 26.1 Mashobra 26 , Nahan 25.4 , Aghar(Hamirpur) and Jubbarhati, Shimla:24.6 each, Sundernagar 19 Poantasahib(Sirmaur) 14, Mandi 8 mm. The Met Office forecast rain and 3 storms in some places of Himachal Pradesh in next 24 hrs.
High reaches of Kangra district in Dhauladhar range got mild spell of Snowfall bring down the mercury at Dharmshala recorded Maximum 16.6 degree Celsius and four degrees below normal. Mild to light Snowfall also recorded in high reaches of Lahaul-Spiti and Chamba district but most roads are open. Keylong was low at 4.3 and Shimla 8.8 Celsius and 6.5 degree below normal.
