Webinar organized on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013
A webinar on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 was organized by the Law Department of Lingayas Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University). Head of Law School Professor (Dr.) Monica Rastogi said that Advocate Vinita Saini (Legal Consultant JKL S Law Firm, Jaipur) was the key speaker on this occasion. Who discussed in detail the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013 and threw light on all its aspects.
Discussing the important provisions of the Act, Advocate Vineeta Saini said that the impact of sexual harassment at the workplace is far-reaching and it is an attack on the equal rights of women. This not only impacts them but also has a direct impact on workplace productivity as well as the development of society. He told that which acts come under the definition of sexual harassment of women at the workplace and what remedies are available to the victim in case of sexual harassment at the workplace and how internal committee as well as Indian Penal Code offenses are registered against this act. A complaint can also be filed before the court.
He told that after investigation by the internal committee, if the complaint regarding sexual harassment of a woman at the workplace is found to be true, then the person who has committed this act can be fired from the job and if the complaint is found to be false, then the complainant will be punished. Action can also be taken against him.
