Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra aims to ensure timely benefits of government schemes: Governor Shukla
Under the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with beneficiaries via video conferencing and live telecast of the same was screened at Raj Bhavan today.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla presided over the event at Raj Bhavan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the people to widespread the Vikas ka Mahotsav (event of development) at the village level. He said that the faith of the people have amplified after availing benefits of the union government schemes. About 4.50 Lakh new beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana were added during the yatra, while one crore Aayushman Bharat cards were also prepared on the spot. Apart from this, 1.25 crore medical check-ups and 70 lakh TB check-ups were done. The Yatra covered 1.25 lakh Gram Panchayats and witnessed the participation of more than five crore people across the country so far.
Later, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra spans the entire nation, with the primary objective of achieving the saturation of key government schemes. The focus is on ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach all targeted beneficiaries within a specified timeframe.
The event aims to foster a direct connection between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and those who have benefited from the yatra, a journey undertaken to ensure the widespread success of union government flagship schemes, he added.
“Since its inauguration, the Yatra has garnered significant attention. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently reached out to the beneficiaries, showcasing a commitment to understanding their experiences and ensuring the success of union government initiatives,” the Governor said.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is to cover almost every gram panchayat of the country. Under this, 3799 places have been targeted in Himachal Pradesh and 2966 Gram Panchayats in 85 blocks have been covered so far, said the Governor, adding further that the tribal districts of Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur and Pangi area of Chamba district were covered under the first phase of the Yatra.
Focus areas include sanitation, financial services, electricity, LPG connections, housing, food security, health care, clean water etc, he said. The two major schemes of the State Government have also been included in this Yatra campaign, which includes Mukhyamantri Himcare Swasthya Yojana and Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashraya Yojana, he added.
Rajesh Sharma, Secretary to the Governor and other officers and officials were also present on the occasion at Raj Bhavan.
