Various projects of HPMC to be commenced by March, 2024: Jagat Singh Negi

The State Government is committed to promote the horticulture products of Himachal Pradesh in the nation. 13 projects of Himachal Pradesh Horticultural Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation Limited (HPMC) will be commenced in different areas of the state by March 2024, which includes cold stores besides grading and packing units.

This was disclosed by Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi while presiding over the review meeting of HPMC here today.

He said that various products of HPMC, especially fruit juices are famous among the people and continuous efforts are being made to increase their demand and availability.

He directed the officials to adopt better marketing strategy, branding and designing. The Horticulture Minister said that HPMC is now going to step into manufacturing apple liquor also. 

Jagat Singh Negi said that machinery, pesticides and fertilizers should be made available to the horticulturists in time and directed for proper utilization of HPMC’s assets and to submit proposals for new cold stores and grading and packing lines.

Various aspects of the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) were also discussed during the meeting.

 HPMC Managing Director Sudesh Kumar Mokhta and other senior officers were also present on this occasion
