Vacant posts should be filled soon in Junga office of Electricity Board : Prem Thakur

The responsibility of 136 transformers in Junga is on the shoulders of only 13 employees
Shimla 06 August. District Shimla BJP President Prem Thakur in a statement issued to the media on Tuesday demanded immediate filling of 17 vacant posts of various categories in the sub division office of Electricity Board, Junga. He said that the main post of Assistant Engineer has been lying vacant for the last eight months. Apart from this, three posts of JE are lying vacant in the four section offices under the Electricity Sub Division. These include section offices Koti, Mundaghat and Junga-2. The situation is such that all the posts of fourth class are lying vacant in the sub division office. There is no employee available even to clean the office. Due to which the employees of the office have to do all the work of the office, from cleaning to other work.
Prem Thakur said that the condition of the field is such that 136 transformers have been installed in the entire sub-division whose maintenance and operation is the responsibility of only 13 field employees of the board. The situation is such that if the fuse of any transformer of the sub-division blows, it cannot be fixed before 12 hours due to shortage of field staff. Let us tell you that the employees of the sub-division office of the Electricity Board, Junga, which is facing shortage of staff, are facing a lot of problems in maintaining normal electricity supply.
On the other hand, senior BJP official Pritam Thakur has demanded from the government that a technical employee be deployed at the Panchayat headquarters Peeran. He says that Peeran Panchayat has been connected to Sheelabagh sub-station of Sirmaur district and this line keeps getting faulty often. Due to lack of technical employees at the local level of the Electricity Board, the power supply in this Panchayat is often restored after 18 hours. Three days ago, due to a wire breaking on this line, power supply could be restored after 18 hours. Due to which people’s mobiles and other devices stopped working.
Executive Engineer, Electricity Division Shimla Pratap Singh Chandoli said that the matter has been raised with the higher authorities to fill the vacant posts. And the vacant posts in the sub-division office will be filled soon.
