Urology OPD Services at IGMC Shimla shifted to AIMSS Chamiyana

Dr. Rahul Rao, the Medical Superintendent of Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, has announced that starting from July 22, 2024, all outpatient department (OPD) services for the Urology Department will be available only at AIMSS Chamiyana. Urology OPD services will no longer be provided at IGMC Shimla. Dr. Pamposh Raina, Head of the Urology Department, stated that the OPD services at AIMSS Chamiyana will be available every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, where minor surgical procedures will also be performed. Emergency and major surgical operations related to urology will continue to be conducted at IGMC Shimla.

Dr. Brij Sharma, Principal of AIMSS Chamiyana, announced the addition of a new Gastroenterology OPD every Friday at AIMSS Chamiyana. The routine Gastroenterology OPD services at IGMC Shimla will remain available on Monday, Wednesday afternoons, and Thursday.

Dr. Rahul Rao urged the general public to cooperate with this transition, emphasizing the Himachal Pradesh government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services and improving facilities for the common people.
