Union Budget is progressive and people-friendly: Suresh Bhardwaj
Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj hailed the Union Budget 2022-23 and described it as progressive and people-friendly. He said that the Union Budget will give impetus to the infrastructure development of the country. He said that this budget will create more job opportunities and better facilities.
Suresh Bhardwaj said that India’s economy is the fastest growing economy in the world even during the Corona period. This Union Budget would provide more pace to the economy of the country. He also appreciated the Prime Minister Gati Shakti, under which emphasis would be laid on strengthening roads, railroads, airways, airports, freight transport, waterways and logistic infrastructure.
He said that the developed countries in the world have been the first to improve and strengthen their transport services. In this budget, Rs. 20 thousand crore have been earmarked for road transport only, which is a commendable step.
The Minister said that the budget has a provision for better urban planning in the big cities of India, with a focus on sustainable measures and public transport. Modernization of building byelaws, Town Planning Schemes, transit-oriented development will be implemented. Battery Swapping Policy will be introduced for setting up of charging stations on a large scale in urban areas.
Suresh Bhardwaj said that the Government of India has constituted separate Ministry of Cooperation. In this budget, the government has allocated more than Rs. 1000 crore for several schemes including digitization of cooperatives.
He said that with the emphasis on infra sector would give boost to infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh as well. He said that ropeways, roads, better urban and rural infrastructure would be developed in the state with this budget.
