UNESCO Heritage Great Himalayan National Park to be developed as a Nature Learning Institute

 The World Heritage Great Himalayan National Park would be developed as a Nature Learning Institute at Shairopa Centre in Banzar assembly constituency of Kullu district.

In reply to a written query raised by the Surinder Shourie of BJP Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that the building of Nature Learning Institute is proposed to be built in the Shairopa Center of the World Heritage Great Himalayan National Park. 

He said that soon after of completion of necessary formalities related to this building its construction work would be started.

He said that the concept note of the said building has been approved. Subsequently, a detailed estimate of this building was prepared and sent to the Executive Engineer, Forest Engineering Division North Dharmshala for technical approval.

The technical approval of Rs. 83.27 lakh has been given on July 12, 2021. 

He said that the building is currently under process for administrative and financial approval.

It is worthwhile to mention that GHNP was declared UNESCO World Heritage in 1999 this unique nature heritage spread over 754.4 square kilometers area in the high reaches of the Himalayan.
