Two workers lose lives after falling into chemical tank at Nalagarh
In a tragic incident on Sunday, two workers lost their lives after falling into a chemical tank at the Canvin drug factory in Plasda village, located under the Nalagarh sub-division of Solan district.
According to preliminary police investigations, one worker had climbed into the chemical tank to retrieve samples when he accidentally slipped and fell into the hazardous liquid. In a desperate attempt to save his colleague, another worker jumped into the tank without any safety gear.
Unfortunately, one of the workers died on the spot, while the second worker passed away on the way to the hospital. Despite their colleagues’ efforts to rush them to medical care, the second worker succumbed to his injuries before reaching Baddi ESI Hospital.
Nalagarh police, led by the SHO, have launched a detailed investigation into the incident. Initial reports from the workers suggest that the chemical tank involved in the accident was an RO tanker. The tragic deaths have been attributed to the absence of safety equipment, a critical issue that claimed the lives of both workers.
The incident underscores the urgent need for safety protocols and precautions to protect workers in hazardous environments.
