Two more bodies of trekker recover in Kinnuar; Seven died and two missing
Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur Abid Hussain Sadiq said here today that rescue operation began this morning at 0630 by the Army and ITBP Jawan to trace the four missing trekker out of 11 recovered tow more bodies near Lamkhaga pass in Kinnuar district at the height of 17382 ft from the seas level.
He said that on October 17, 2021, he had an information about 11 tourists coming to and from Chitkul from Uttarkashi getting caught in the snow received on Oct 18. He said that five bodies were recovered with help of Army Helicopter on the pass on Thursday however four were missing.
He said that Army helicopter and ITBP move to rescue 0630 hrs on Friday Relief and rescue operations succeed to find two more bodies. He said that two more trekkers were still missing.
He said that search of trekker started from Nithal Tach, the soldiers of the army traced two more bodies in the snow. Both the bodies were taken to Sangla by the rescue party, Five bodies of trekkertraced by the rescue party yesterday was handed over to their family members by the Uttrakhand Government . DC said that rescue operation would continue to trace out two more trekkers who may have died in the snowfall .
Out of 11 trekkers including three cook belonged to Uttakhand only two have been rescued alive Deputy Commissioner said that rescue parties were taking down both the bodies however name of any seven deceased died among the eight trekkers could not be identified sofar.
The trekkers bodies were found in different places in the snow collected to one place today to further handed over to their relative. He said that still two more tourists are missing were coming towards Himachal.
It has been stated that 11 trekkers including three local and seven trekkers from West Bengal andone from New Delhi trapped in the snowfall. They left from Harsil area ofUttrakhand on Oct 11 and scheduled to arrive in Chitkul of Kinnuar on Oct 19 but they trapped in snowfall of Oct 17 and 18 in at 17382 ft high altitude while crossing the Lamkhaga pass, DC added.
