Two laborers drown in mighty Beas on Sunday

Two migrant laborers drowned in the waters of mighty Beas near Nadaun in Hamirpur on Sunday as they were washing their clothes on its banks and fell down from a rock into the river .  An official spokesperson said that one of them slipped into the water and listening to his screams, the other rushed to save him and in the process both were drowned.  They were working with a private company engaged by Dhaulasidh power project authority.  Frantic search was made by the local divers to locate the bodies, said an official spokesman.  He said that trained divers would be called on Monday to retrieve the bodies from the water.  Meanwhile, parents of both the laborers have been informed about the sad incident.
