Tourist resort Khajjiar receives one feet snowfall, 268 road and 889 DTR disrupt by snowfall
Many places of Himachal Pradesh received major rain and snowfall disrupting vehicular traffic on 268 roads and 889 distribution Transformer Region in past 24 hrs , Tourist resort Khajjiar received one feet snowfall till this afternoon and it was continue. State Disaster Management authority spokesperson Sudesh Mokta said that Khajjiar and Killard in Chamba had 12 inch or one feet snowfall.
Koksar in Lahual Spiti had 71 cm, Gondla-51 cm Saloni in Chamba 46 cm, Kukumseri in Lahaul-Spiti 32 cm, Bharmaur in Chamba 30 cm, Keylong in Lahual Spiti 24 cm, Hansa-20 cm, Kothi in Kullu 10 cm, Sangla in Kinnuar &
Khadrala in Shimla 8 cm each.Dehra Gopipur in Kangra had 93 mm rain, Nagrota Suriyan-90 mm, Chamba-73 mm, Kangra-70 mm, Guler-69 mm, Dharmshala-68 mm, Nadaun in Hamirpur 58 mm, Una-49 mm, Ghamroor in Kangra 48 mm, Sujanpur Tihra of Hamirpur 43 mm, Palampur in Kangra 41 mm, Jhandutta in Bilaspur -36 mm Hamirpur & Aghar-27 mm and Naina Devi-23 . In the state 262 roads and three National Highway and 889 DTR are disrupted by the snowfall as Chamba district is most affected with closing down of 92 roads and 793 roads. Followed by Lahaul-Spiti district as 139 roads and three NH and 95 DTR are down. According to district administration Lahaul-Spiti Manali Leh National Highway ( NH – 003 ) is closed for all types of vehicles due to snowfall . Darcha Shinkula road is closed for all types of vehicles. Pangi Killar Highway ( SH – 26 ) is closed for all types of vehicles . Kaza road ( NH – 505 ) is also closed from Graphu to Kaza and Sumdo to Rangrik is open for four by four 4 vehicles . There for vehicular traffic are closed for Local people as well as tourists who are advised to avoid unnecessary travel in case of snowfall. Barring three roads of Dodrakawar tand ten in Chopal in Shimla district all other roads are open in the district.
