Three disasters were successfully faced in one and a quarter years: Sukhu
Fifteen months ago, the Congress party government was formed in Himachal Pradesh. During this period, the state government successfully faced economic, disaster and political disaster. The people of the state love the state government. In the 15-month tenure, the present state government has fulfilled the five guarantees. Those who sold themselves in the Congress have left and now there is no one left who can be sold using money power.
The Chief Minister was talking to journalists on reaching Gaggal Airport of Dharamshala from Delhi. He said that we have evidence against those who sell themselves and the Bharatiya Janata Party has made sellable leaders its candidates. One leader is the mastermind of the conspiracy, who must have received more than fifteen crores to sell himself. He said that the people of the state are ready to teach a lesson to all these sellable leaders.
The Chief Minister said that by-elections are going to be held on six seats and a decision is likely to be taken soon on the resignation of three independent MLAs. In such a situation, there are 34 Congress MLAs in the 62-seat assembly. Therefore, the claim of BJP leaders to form the government in the state has no substance. They are only trying to mislead the people of the state by telling lies. BJP leaders should tell how they will form the government in the state. He said that the Congress party is fully prepared for the elections. The Congress party has put the truth in front of the people of the state and the state government will take strict action against corruption with full honesty. Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the final round of discussions has been held regarding the Congress candidates. Soon the party will field its candidates in the election and leaders with good and clean image will be given Congress party tickets.
The Chief Minister said that the old pension scheme for government employees has been restored and Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh-Samman Nidhi has been started to provide Rs. 1500 to women for life, which has been started from Lahaul Spiti district. He said that the central government provides Rs. 6000 per year under Kisan Samman Nidhi, while the state government is providing Rs. 18000 per year to women. Apart from this, the state government is bearing the expenses of education of children of 1.15 lakh widows and single women in the state. Along with this, the state government is also providing financial assistance of Rs. 1.50 lakh for building their houses. He said that the state government is also providing free medical treatment to the elderly.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the present state government has also made several efforts to strengthen the rural economy. The present state government has made the minimum support price of cow milk a historic increase of Rs 13 to Rs 45, while the purchase price of buffalo milk has been increased to Rs 55 per liter. He said that Himachal Pradesh has become the first state to provide minimum support price on the purchase of milk. Along with this, a historic increase of Rs 60 was made in MNREGA wages and the minimum support price of wheat of natural farming has been fixed at Rs 40 and the rate of maize at Rs 30. He said that ninety percent of the population of Himachal Pradesh lives in villages and steps are being taken to strengthen the economy of the villages. He said that the Congress Party will take all these achievements to the public.
