Three die five injured in Himachal; Two NH & 9-link roads off due to rain
South west monsoon which is slowly receding from the state continue to wreak the havoc as three people were killed and five others were injured in separate road and rain related mishap moreover vehicular traffic apple transport and loss of properties have been reported in last 24 hrs.
State Emergency Operation Centre spokesperson Sudesh Mokta said that a mishap occurred at Bharmour of Chamba district in which two persons were killed .
He said that an Alto Car fell down in a Ravi river Near Dhakog -Durgethi area of subdivision .
Mishap occurred when a cow grazing in the hills fall down on the bonnet of car and driver lost control over the wheel.
Revenue officials were rushed to spot and bodies are being recovered from the ill fated car.
In a major mishap occurred at 1100 hrs this morning a trader’s Apple store collapsed as the building cave in at Rouni -Matina in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Shimla Mr Aditya Negi said that one building collapsed this morning being used by a trader to store the apple boxes at Matiana about 55 km from here. Five persons who were inside the store sustained injuries.
One person died in a road accident at Jeori near Rampur of Shimla district last night at 2300 hrs. Mr Negi said that a vehicle driven by the victim fell down in deep gorge at Jeori.
The deceased was identified as Prem Singh (58 yrs) resident of Rarang Tehsil Murang of district Kinnuar of Himachal .
Hindustan Tibet National Highway was disrupted by a landslide at Shillaru near Matiana 60 km from here this afternoon state official confirmed .
He said that an incident of landslide occurred on NH-5 Near Shillaru, District Shimla due to which Road is Blocked.
Vehicular traffic was closed partly after the landslide . NHAI officer have been informed about the landslide to restore the road . District Administration and NHAI have arrived at the spot.
NH -205 Shimla to Mandi near Judicial academy Ghandal is closed for last one week due to heavy landslide ( Route Diverted Ghanati – Nalhati – Bangora Road).
He said that two national highways and nine link roads are off due to recent rain as two each link road are off in Banjar, Rohru, three in Karsog one in Mandi, Sundernagar and Sarkaghat .
Monsoon rainfall took a heavy toll of life as till Monday state recorded as many as 410 death (65 in Shimla district)due to rainy season including 205 (44 in Shimla district) in the road mishaps.
State recorded 54 deaths in the landslides, 53 in falling of buildings and falling of victims from the height 33 due to drowning, 17 due to snake bites, 10 due to cloudbursts and flood . State recorded cumulative loss of Rs 1066.40 Cr in the Monsoon Season.
