Three-day training program on “Subhash Palekar Natural Farming” organized at Farmers Training Center


A three-day training program on “Subhash Palekar Natural Farming” was organized at the Farmers Training Center Sundarnagar. Agricultural transmission officers and assistant agriculture development officers from District Mandi, Kangra, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una, Kullu participated in this program. During the training Principal, Farmers Training Center Sundarnagar Dr. Prachi gave detailed information about the need for natural farming by nurturing the present time. On the first day of training Dr. Hitender Singh gave information about government initiatives to promote natural farming and facilities provided by the department to farmers. Sanjay Kumar, a progressive farmer of village Palauta, taught how to make the ghol used in natural farming on the occasion. The training briefed about natural insect resistance and crop protection, preparation methods of various pesticides, creation of function and their application in natural farming.
On the second day of training, officers visited the farmers’ fields doing natural farming in village Slapad and Jadol. Officials were given detailed information about group dynamism, formation and maintaining group in farmers’ association, importance of FPO in natural farming and essentially-way, product authentication and marketing under natural farming.
Retired Project Director Dr. Desh Raj Sharma gave information about the philosophy of natural farming, ethics and principles, natural farming and indigenous methods, organic farming and permaculture.
Training Coordinator Dr. Meena gave information about storage of natural agricultural produce and weed management by Dr. Naresh.
