There are about four thousand toxic elements in tobacco: Dr. Priyanka

Government Senior Secondary School Peeran has been declared a tobacco-free school by the Health Department. Civil Hospital Junga’s doctor Dr. Priyanka Azad along with her team visited the school on Friday. On this occasion, Peeran School got 96 marks out of 100 based on the tobacco-free standards of the Health Department. Dr. Priyanka also issued a certificate to the school administration for being a tobacco-free educational institution.
An awareness camp was also organized in the school by the Health Department to create awareness about drug addiction. On this occasion, Dr. Priyanka Azad, while giving information to the children about the ill effects of tobacco consumption, said that tobacco contains four thousand toxic elements that cause many diseases in the human body. Hair fall, cataracts, tooth decay, lung cancer, heart disease, stomach ulcers, etc. are the main diseases.
Dr. Priyanka said that continuous consumption of tobacco creates the possibility of cancer in 14 different parts of the body, the major ones being the nose, throat, urinary bladder, stomach, kidney, and uterus. He said that every year around 70 lakh people in the world die due to diseases caused by tobacco consumption. Out of which, 13 lakh people use poor-quality tobacco. He called upon the children to stay away from drugs like tobacco, alcohol, gutka, hashish, opium, Chitta, etc. only then they can achieve their life goals. Health department counselor Naveen also gave information about the ill effects of tobacco.
Acting Principal Devinda Chauhan, Superintendent Sevak Ram Sharma, Spokesperson Meera Parihar, Kalpana Sharma, Manisha Kumari, DP Balvindra Thakur, Kapil Dev, Sheela Sharma, Suman Bala, Manoj Sharma, Rahul Sharma, Nisha and other teachers and children participated in the workshop.
